The idea of Sayer has been my inspiration for all of my klt:baby collection. Now that he is here, we are able to utilize all of my previous daydreams in creating his nursery. Here is a little glimpse into his world as it continues to morph into his big boy room.

Sayer started with a Black & White Flights of Fancy Mobile-B&W is great for newborns given that they see in high contrast. He has moved on to color.. but he still loves his B&W so it is over by his changing table now.

I created the Cut Paper illustrations with Sayer's nursery in mind. I like the idea of simple, clean and colorful for his walls.

The very unique "house changing table" is a creation from the '70's. My husband updated and tweaked an old dollhouse that my dad made me when I was little. It worked into a perfect changing table once the shag carpet, unicorn posters, and wall paper was taken out.

The HUGE "S" on the wall was painted (free-hand) by my ever so talented husband. I think that wall is one of my favorite things in Sayer's room. He picked just a few shades darker to paint it on- to create a cool shadow effect. At a certain time of day, the mobile casts a shadow on the "S" and it is pretty stunning.

FAVORITE ITEMS:
-The Eames chair is my all time favorite item in Sayers room. I have been inspired by Ray and Charles Eames as designers/artists for some time. My husband gave me this chair when we decided to expand our two person (and a cat) family. I anticipated rocking Sayer in this chair from the moment I saw it and before I even knew him.

-ipod holder for the crib:
Sayer has many playlists and loves to listen to music. This ipod holder is awesome! (Thank Auntie Katie and Uncle B)

CURRENT DAY PLAYLIST:
Sayer is really into all music but he is particularly fond of Louis Armstrong. His favorite is Wonderful World.
We are also big on audiobooks for his ipod. We have a lot of Ezra Jack Keats. I remember those stories from when I was a kid. And he loves Owl Moon by Jane Yolen & Possum Magic by Mem Fox.
