I adore books- particularly children's books & when Rachelle Francy (editor in chief) of La Petite Magazine asked me to contribute to her magazine, I was over the moon. In 2011, I started writing & taking photographs for the feature, "For the Love of Books". It's a lot of fun for me to research & come up with ideas to compliment the theme of the magazine & I look forward to every issue. Sayer's a good sport in helping me in this task as well.

La Petite Magazine - Issue #4 - '70's & '80's Style
Article & Photos: For the Love of Books (pgs 109-112)
Being that I was born in 1971 - this was just a trip down memory lane for me as I remembered favorite books from the past - that I have passed down to Sayer.
La Petite Magazine- issue #4
La Petite Magazine - Issue #5 - Innovate
Article & Photos: For the Love of Books (pgs 154-157)
Innovation & creativity go hand & hand for me. So I featured some of my favorite books that nurture creativity in children (along with adults). Ambiguous pop-up books that fall into the "paper craft" catagory made an appearance in this list.
La Petite Magazine - issue #5
La Petite Magazine - Issue #6 - Children of the Mountains
Article & Photos: For the Love of Books (pgs 154-156)
Children of the Mountains was a fun research issue for me. With a heavy lean toward the Swiss Alps, I researched Han Christian Andersen Awards over the years for both writing & illustration. In this literary journey, I discovered that I had many of these winners represented on my book shelf! The photo shoot with Sayer was particularly fun & so far one of my favorites (although I think I say that every time).
